I LOVE a good museum. It almost doesn't matter what the topic is, I love that someone put the time and effort into doing a deep dive on a subject. One of my favorites is the Kam Wah Chung site in John Day, OR. Kam Wah Chung was the home and business of Lung On and "Doc" Ing Hay. It was a general store, community meeting space, and (the part that really intrigues me!) a Chinese Herbal Clinic. What's really exciting about it is that after Lung on and Ing Hay passed, the building was closed up and left alone for decades. When it was opened again, it was a perfect time capsule, with everything still in place. It has since been turned into a museum and you can tour the building! I highly recommend making a road trip to see this treasure, whether you're a lover of a good museum, a fan of Chinese medicine, or both! If you're unable to make the trip, "Oregon Experience" on OPB did an episode on Kam Wah Chung to tide you over! What are some of your favorite museums? I need some ideas for my next road trip ;)
