Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is one of the oldest forms of health care. Herbs can be seeds, berries, roots, leaves, bark or flowers that are combined into a formula created specifically for each patient. In Chinese Medicine, it is considered an even stronger medicine than acupuncture! Because of this, most of my patients are prescribed Chinese herbal formulas to help speed their healing.
I prefer to prescribe what are called teapills. Teapills are standardized pre-made formulas that can be taken just like any other pill. For a patient who fits a specific Chinese medical diagnosis, teapills can be a great treatment option - they are super convenient to take since you can easily bring the bottle of them with you, and they are the cheapest way to take Chinese herbs.
For the patient that doesn't fit a specific Chinese medical diagnosis, I like to prescribe what are called granule herbs. This is a formula made from individual ground-up herbs. I am able to customize these formulas in order to treat all of your symptoms and avoid any side effects from the herbs. Granules are the quickest way to start feeling better, since the formula is made just for you!
